Marshall acquitted in Anna Mae murder Trial

April 22, 2010. Richard "Dickie" Marshall found NOT GUILTY in murder charges in the killing of Anna Mae Pictou Aquash.  The murder trials have become, over the years, more an indictment of the American Indian Movement, than any one "murderer".

After only 2 hours of deliberation the jury found Marshall not guilty.  Despite the efforts of Arlo Looking Cloud (convicted of Aquash murder), paid informant UK Author Serle Chapman and many others,  to finger Marshall as the "gun" man, Marshall was freed.

Looking Cloud's story about what happened to Anna Mae has changed MANY times over the years.  He never took the stand in his own trial, and was/is expected to  testify as  a "key"  prosecution witness for  the upcoming John Graham trial in July 2010. Graham is accused of pulling the trigger in the execution of Aquash.

Today's verdict could be  a reflection of Looking Cloud's "word" about the murder as unreliable. The murder weapon was never found and Marshall's acquittal today tosses the truth as to what happened to Aquash into a continual, muddied reality.
